Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London is back for another year and this time the exhibition takes over one of the capital’s most iconic venues: London Olympia. This annual event showcases the latest innovations within packaging and the finest creations from the luxury sector. In keeping with tradition, Procos GmbH has taken responsibility for providing visitors with a handy carrier bag that captures the essence of the show.

This year Procos teamed up with American based paper supplier Neenah Paper (Stand G10) and used the Wrought Iron Raw paper stock from their Environment® range to make the bag. The paper stock contains 30 % post consumer waste and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®). The focal point of the bag is the integrated wheel that can be spun around to deliver a number of messages when lined up with the circular die-cuts on one side. This unique innovation could be employed by Brands and Retailers to develop a new level of interaction with the consumer.

Leander Kritikos, Director of Procos commented »The project required close collaboration between our design and technical teams, Neenah Paper and our logistics network. We needed to design the bag in such a way that the wheel could spin freely, but also allow contents to be packed easily. Later on we had to establish a special packing technique to ensure the bag and its wheel would not be damaged in transit – So it’s a good example of the way we bring these expertise together!«

Procos GmbH can be found on stand H30, where they will showcase a number of other innovations. Highlights include; the new »Basket Bag«, which has recently been shortlisted for the UK Packaging Awards’ best new concept category. The bag made for high end fashion house Ralph & Russo, which is up for »Best Bag« at this year’s Luxury Packaging Awards and visitors can also check out a 100 % recycled bag that was recently launched by Procos.
